Should uk drivers pay motoring tax??

Downing St Motor Tax petition

You might have seen reports of this on the news or in the papers, so people are taking notice

%26gt;

%26gt; The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you

%26gt; having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly

%26gt; bill to use it.

%26gt; · The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by

%26gt; the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194

%26gt; for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used her car to take the

%26gt; kids to school paid £86 in one month.

%26gt; · On top of this massive increase in tax you will be tracked. Somebody

%26gt; will know where you are at all times.

%26gt; · They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you

%26gt; accidentally creep over a speed limit in time you can expect a Notice

%26gt; of Intended Prosecution with your monthly bill.

%26gt; If you care about our freedom and stopping the constant bashing of the

car

%26gt; driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website (link below)

%26gt; and pass this on to as many people as possible.

Should uk drivers pay motoring tax??
Ooh - a decent question that deserves posting every day. Keep the link on top kid!
Reply:for good roads yes come see Ireland's roads and think about it!
Reply:I can't believe this government will think people will fall for this.

Currently I am forced to pay £175 per year for "ROAD TAX" then I have to pay 85p per litre for fuel which includes not only fuel duty but then VAT on the fuel duty (Check your recepit) at about 65p per litre so therefore I am already paying 10p per mile in tax !!!!

British drivers are already the highest taxed road users in the world but yet they offer no viable alternative. I had to visit a customer the other day and I would have needed to spend 4 hours on 2 trains and 2 taxi rides each way - Would have cost over £125.00 - I went by car and it took me 2 hours each way and a tank of fuel.

IT HAS TO STOP !!!!!!!
Reply:personally i think we pay enough its just another stealth tax. but if its brought in we wont have a choice. its all part of the big brother syndrome. they want to know far too much about what we do. George Orwells book 1984 sums it up.
Reply:if all the money spent by motorists actually went to the "roads" traffic signals etc.then we would be better off. instead it introduces speed cameras purely for revenue, accident black spot my a**e ! its time to leave the uk and go else where!
Reply:Why don't they think they get enough per mile already from the extortionate petrol tax Uk drivers already pay.
