I have the memo already written and it will also be posted. Any employee getting these type of deliveries will get a verbal warning on the first offense and will be terminated on the second. Productivity has sucked in here today. Do any of you blame me for this? Give me your honest views.

I just wrote up a memo and I am posting it in all employee's email prohibiting V-Day gift deliveries.?
You're disciplining your employees for receiving gifts they have no control over. Most people do not send florists to themselves, their loved ones do and by now it is far too late to be saying anything of it. If you didn't want people entering the building you should have sent the memo out at least a week ago so they could tell their SOs NOT to send them anything because they're going to get in trouble for it. Doing anything right now will only upset your employees and anyone who possibly receives anything. It's ONE day. Get over it. Holidays are normally unproductive because people have their minds elsewhere. What you SHOULD send a memo over is reminding everyone that even though today is Valentine's Day, you would like to see productivity stay as good as always and just gently remind them to try to stay on task as much as possible.
Reply:If people want to send a person flowers, the receiver has no control over it. Employees need little perks in their job in order to feel appreciated. One would be an easy going boss who doesn't try to stop fun things from happening, such as not allowing flowers etc. to be delivered.

Are you the Grinch who stole Valentine's Day? Lol. Even though people may be chatting and checking out other people's gifts today, tomorrow will be back to normal. Let them enjoy a little less productivity for one day. Besides, you're on Yahoo answers while at work (just like me), and that's not very productive.

I hope you didn't send that memo.
Reply:Well if you aren't the owner start filling out your resume. If you ar get ready to close your doors .
Reply:You cant punish your employees because someone else loves them and wants to express it. You dont want to be the boss thats an *** and everyone hates. It's only for 2 days out of the year and dont be such a grouch about it.

If it really is a big problem, then maybe try to come up with a plan that isnt so harsh, but include your employees in the policy making that way you dont look like an ***!
Reply:Well, it's kind of hard when you may have no control over who sends you something. Sounds like a lost cause to me. Your memo's going to be trampled on.
Reply:You will get just what you're asking for if you do that. You may be the boss, but you are clearly not a leader. Squash their spirit of good will today and they will sabatoge you in ways you never dreamed of. So what if one day is low, make it up and suck it up or you will be the sorry one. Honestly, what's the big deal from one who was a boss.
Reply:Do you think productivity will get any better by being such a dictator? You must be a very miserable person. Let people enjoy themselves, it's just one day.
Reply:That's horrible! The employee is not soliciting the delivery, it is something special done FOR them by someone else. If your significant other wants to surprise you by sending you a cookie bouquet or something, why should you be punished for that.

It seems a little like sour grapes to me. Don't penalize others for your lonliness. This is a day that comes once a year, and makes people feel loved and special, don't take that away from others. You have 364 other days to make them miserable.
Reply:You know what, our lives are so busy with work, running here and there etc. that I think it's good for a persons morale. You should notice a change in attitudes for the better. How dare you try to ban something this special to a person. Ya know most people don't have a lot to look forward to. It's work, go home work some more, go to bed, get up go to work, Come on think about it.
Reply:seriously ur pathetic! just because u dont have a gf or anyone to send u something at the moment... u dont have to be so harsh.... im mean its just one day for god sake...

if it annoys u so much.. i suggest take the day off work ;)

p.s probably ur productivity has sucked too.. if u have time to waste on yahoo answers, writing the memo, emailing it, complain and being all lousy.people with lousy moods work bad :D
Reply:you must be very unhappy and jealous because no one loves you.
Reply:So, how's your productivity on Christmas day? How about on July 4th? There are only a few holidays during the year that interfere with working. My suggestion is you tear up your memo, and let your employees enjoy feeling a little bit special on Valentine's day. Happy employees are more productive. If you run the place like a Victorian-era sweatshop, I can assure you that productivity will suffer.
Reply:if u were my boss and you give me a warning over something out of our control i would tell ya to put your job where the sun dont shine !!!!!!!!!!
Reply:you are just joking...

If you are not, you are just a little, miserable, insignificant human being.

Don't waste any more time here and use it on trying to become a happier person. I don't think you are contributing to productivity writing on yahoo answers, are you?

Is that even legal???

I still think you are joking...

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-49490926571648454972009-11-13T05:54:00.003-08:002009-11-13T05:54:59.066-08:00Have any questions about pregnacy?• DEAR PREGNANCY EXPERT…………

• Q: Am I more likely to get pregnant if my husband wears boxers or briefs ?

A: You'll have an even better chance if he doesn't wear anything at all

• Q: What do you call a pregnancy that begins while using birth control ?

A: A misconception

• Q: What is the easiest way to figure out exactly when I got pregnant ?

A: Have sex just once a year

• Q: What is a chastity belt ?

A: A labor-saving device

• Q: When does a woman's biological clock start ticking ?

A: Right after she looks in the mirror and thinks, "On my God, crow's feet !"

• Q: What is the most common pregnancy craving ?

A: For men to be the ones who get pregnant

• Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex ?

A: Childbirth

• Q: Should I have a baby after 35 ?

A. I had no where to put them all %26amp; had to give them away to neighbors!

This year I only got 1 (thank god) but it doesn’t even have anything I can dry to use in an arrangement. VERY EXPENSIVE ‘throw-out’ flowers

I would MUCH rather have some kind of plant that I can care for %26amp; keep for more then a week!

Why do people continue to get me flowers for my birthday when I keep telling them I hate getting flowers?
I am definitely laughing right now! Not at you, but with you. Every year I get clothes from people, and every year nothing fits. I tell them please don't buy me clothes, nothing EVER fits. But what do you think happens-you got it-CLOTHES! The only difference between me and you is my cat doesn't eat my clothes.
Reply:People do that too me too...I hate it. What the hell can I do with flowers. How about a grocery certificate so I can gorge my depressing self in ice cream. People are just too lazy to be personal anymore.
Reply:You've gone really into this %26amp; perhaps they can't be bothered to be so deep!
Reply:I feel the same way. Flowers are expensive and they die quickly. I feel they're a waste of money. I'd rather have a plant or a gift certificate.
Reply:Are you telling them collectively, as a group, or individually? As a group, they may not be listening. Tell each one, and tell them the options. Cash or gift certificates. If they cooperate, send them a thank you note. If they send flowers anyway, give them away, and let them know you did. Tell them you'd rather have NOTHING than flowers, thank you very much.
Reply:Why? Because they want someone to send THEM flowers! They don't listen to you either. Make a "wish list/gift list" and email to everyone. Have things on it that are in many different price ranges. Tell everyone that you just found out your are allergic to flowers and can't have any in your house so you wanted to help everyone with gift ideas! Okay, I know that is a big fib, but you need to take drastic steps! Make sure you have lots of ideas on the list and put in there that, when in doubt, you LOVE gift cards to your fav stores. Hopefully, you will get some different gifts next year!
Reply:no theyre not listening, but you cant tell people what to give you unless they ASK, try to enjoy the flowers.
Reply:to bug you . just start saying you hate getting $$$ and there ya go your bank account will starrt to grow as your gifts get smaller

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-89126186449051681192009-11-13T05:54:00.001-08:002009-11-13T05:54:26.871-08:00I might only be a 10 month old baby, but this article had me in fits laughing, what do you think?Q. Flowers were supposed to be delivered on Thursday and didn't arrive till Monday. To top it off, they were completely dead. I called on Friday and got my money back. They tried to tell me I could only have a partial credit. I told them that the flowers would be 100% dead when they would arrive, if they ever would arrive. So they gave me all my money back.

They shipped using FedEx and were scheduled for Thursday. When they didn't arrive, I called on Friday morning. I was told that the truck had too many deliveries and they couldn't get to mine, but since they were left over from the previous day they would be the first to be delivered. Wrong! they didn't come till Monday and of course they were completely dead.

I'll never use ProFlowers again. I'll call a local florist or 1800flowers.com

Yahoo; Are you going to delete this post too?

Anyone Use ProFlowers?
I did and I never will again. Mine were frozen and went bad.
Reply:sorry nto sure
Reply:I dont think it was pro flowers fault though- I have had delays with fedex. They should not accept shipment if they cannot deliver as promised. I have had good flowers delivered with pro flowers although the person who orders always does it early so there is no rush-so I guess that is the secret?
Reply:I've never used them, but definitely won't now!! I'm sorry that you had such a terrible experience, but you're lucky they gave you your money back. I hope it didn't ruin your day!!
Reply:I bought from them for Mother's Day and got 2 dozen roses for my mom. She got them on Friday (I had chosen them to be delivered either Thursday or Friday) and they arrived beautifully. My mom said they died by Sunday or Monday. She called ProFlowers and they said that they would replace them and they did - with flowers that actually lived.

Part of the problem for you was FedEx. They are absolutely horrible becuse we've used them for mailing stuff and they always are delayed - claiming it is out of their control. One time made sense - it was when that tropical storm was in Florida, but this most recent time makes no sense. FedEx is who you should be more upset with.
Reply:We had a awkward experience but I think it had more to do with the delivery guy. It was for Mother's Day and he left them at the wrong house and left them on the uncovered porch (of the wrong house) in pouring rain. We called them and they said the flowers had been delivered and wouldn't refund since they had been signed for. A few days later the person returned home from vacation, recognized the name, and brought them to our mom. They were african violets so totally dead. We called them again and they were really good about it and sent her a brand new batch the next day and refunded part of our money.
Reply:I think local flowers are better. I have worked in a nursing home, and some people long distance sent their mother pro flowers, and some called the florists here. The florists here had prettier flowers and arrangements.
Reply:I agree, worst flower company ever. Roses looked horrible upon arrival and they died in two days. Would it matter to you if your florist used environmentally friendly vehicles for deliveries?I am doing this survey for a class for a class so I need to collect as many responses as possible. Thanks in advance!

Tipping wedding vendors...?
Since some of the gratuities are already stated in your contract I would not tip above and beyond unless the service calls for it.

For the wedding cake delivery I wouldn't worry about it because you will not even be there to greet the delivery person.

For all the others the tip should really depend on the service. If the service/performance was really amazing then go ahead and tip. If not their normal fee should be fine.

You do want to make sure you tip your limo driver though especially if they do a good job. 18% seems like a good number to go by.

It is up to you on whether you want to provide any of the vendors with a meal, but it is not unusual to do so.
Reply:You're covered. It's not like they aren't getting money from you already?! If what you are paying is in your contract, leave it at that, Any more is excessive and way unnecessary. They just want to get even more money from you and it's greedy. If they do a good job, just say a hear-felt 'thank you' which is much more meaningful than money.
Reply:I agree with the previous post, I think your getting ahead of yourself. I didn't tip any of my vendors because I payed more than enough to keep these vendors in business. Also, wait and see what happens. Especially the photographers, how will the proofs come out, along with albums.

mobileJAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-16032430813996373212009-11-13T05:51:00.001-08:002009-11-13T05:51:30.848-08:00The floral arrangement I paid to be delivered to my mom, 2000 miles from me, were not sent, what to do????I went to a local florist in a small town in California to send a mothers day floral arrangement to my mom, who lives in a small town in Ohio. Even though I ordered and paid in cash on Monday they scheduled delivery for the following Saturday, after promising delivery between 8 a.m. and noon at noon they informed me that it might take till six since its a holiday delivery. At around 4 they advised me they would be delivering until 8 pm. My mom is in her 70's and perfers being asleep by 7. So I need some help. Here is the list of questions.

1) Should I use a florist company on the internet, such as FTD.com, or local flower delivery shops? I live far away from her now, and I don't know the details about local florists near her house. Can I trust FTD.com?

2) Should I send a bouquet without a vase or with a vase? You only send flowers in a vase to people who are sick, am I correct? Which form do you expect flowers to come in when your partner send you flowers?

3) I want to give her a card with personalized message with the flowers. Can I do that?

If you have any experience of sending flowers or receiving flowers, please post me some answers. They will be greatly appreciated. I always give 5 stars to best answer and I will give two thumbs up after choosing it! Thank you!

I want to send flowers to a girl?
FTD is a respectable company and they have lovely arrangements you can choose from on their website. That said, I prefer to use local florists because they are very helpful. When I sent my mom flowers on her birthday I was able to have an arrangement that had her favorite flowers and colors in it. As for your other questions send them in a vase, it is always much nicer to be able to view the flowers then to have to cut the stems and arrange them yourself. And either way you send them you can add a personalized message. Good luck.
Reply:Oops. My other account has not reached level 2 to give a thumb up. sorry about that. Report It

Reply:If you haven't ordered from Martha Stewart Flowers then you should. They have a vast variety and arrangements starting at $29.99. Unlike most floral websites, Martha Stewart Flowers provides beautiful fresh-cut flowers. Report It

Reply:Why are you sending girls flowers? When you went to the prom with this girl, you probably ended up paying for all kinds of things, so you owe her nothing. What is it that you hope to accomplish by sending her flowers?
Reply:I used 1-800-flowers.com. They do a really great job with flowers and other things as well, like teddy bears, etc. And you get to put your own personal greeting. I would think flowers with a vase would be best, they always pick out a great one to match the flowers. Good luck hun!
Reply:Obviously you really like this girl a lot. It's so cute that you want to send her flowers. I know that girls love flowers from my own experience. I am a girl!! Well if it were me you were sending the flowers to, I would just buy some. I'm not a particular girl, %26amp; i would love to have a guy send me flowers. I'm sure she'll be happy with whatever you choose to do.

Good luck

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-84463845834681193852009-11-13T05:50:00.003-08:002009-11-13T05:50:58.865-08:00Calling all Brides!-Would you buy your fresh wedding bouquets from the Internet? If there was a website that shipped nationally, gave a garuntee for fresh delivery, and gave you a wide selection of pre-constructed wedding bouquest for a low cost...would you consider buying your bridal party bouquets through that web site instead of using a local florist?

Calling all Brides!-Would you buy your fresh wedding bouquets from the Internet?
Nope. A brides flowers are an important part of her day, even if your guarantee it, there is no way to really 100% ensure they will be beautiful when she walks down the aisle. (a guarntee just means she would get her money back) Her day would be ruined, what would she be expected to do if your company was in CA and she was in Ohio? She couldnt call and get a replacement bouquet brought over. Also, how can you ensure the arrival of the bouquets on time? If she is getting married at 8 am she would need them to get there by 7 am, fed ex isnt going to deliver that early #1 and I wouldnt trust a shipping company to give any window other than "before 10 am" things are delivered in order they are loaded on the truck, if you live far from the distribution site you have a good chane of being first, but the closer you live the further back on the truck you are.

Not such a great idea.
Reply:No. WIth a floirst you have more options, they will work within your price range as well. Plus, if you get it from the florist that day %26amp; have a problem with it, they will correct it. When my florist delivers all of my flowers, she doesn't leave until she gets the OK from me that they are what I wanted. Don't get that from the internet.
Reply:Nope, not a chance. Even overnight shipping could damage the flowers, and they'd start to wilt. Also, things to wrong with shipping all the time.
Reply:no, i wouldn't the quality is just not gonna be there, you can't really see their work, and flowers just don't need to be out of water that long with our adaquit preparation to the stems which you can't do once they are in bouquets...I worked at a florist for 2 years and i just wouldn't be happy im sure
Reply:NEVER! Remember you'll have to pay transport too. What if they get your bouquet wrong? Then what?
Reply:I would prefer to have a store location, where I could inspect the regular quality of their merchandise, and how flowers are handled and delivered.

Flowers shipped at this time of year may run into delays with winter weather. They may be exposed to cold winter air and wither. They may arrive on time, but be completely not what you expect. And if you order on the Internet, it's not like you can send a representative over to their store to demand replacements in the hour before the wedding!

Yes, it might be lower cost, but it's much higher risk, with fewer options to fall back on if something goes amiss.
Reply:I think I would at least consider doing this. I have ordered flowers online before and they have arrived in perfect condition. What website is this so I can take a look at these bouquets?
Reply:no

everyone knows the plant will go bad from sitting in the box for a week or so

my mom bouhgt a plant and it came to us as dried out
Reply:Nope. Never buy what you can't see. ESPECIALLY for a wedding!
Reply:I wouldnt because they could be dead by the time they get to your house. And they might not look like they show.
Reply:no I would not because it will not look right when it gets to your house.

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-74271584431789160712009-11-13T05:50:00.002-08:002009-11-13T05:50:42.920-08:00Do you Love Flowers? Apparently there are only a few days left to register your objection to the 'Pay As You Go' road tax.

The petition is on the 10 Downing St website but they didn't tell anybody about it. Therefore at the time of Sarah's comments only 250,000 people had signed it and 750,000 signatures are required for the government to at least take any notice.

Once you've given your details (you don't have to give your full address, just house number and postcode will do), they will send you an email with a link in it. Once you click on that link, you'll have signed the petition.

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working mother who used the car t

Pay as you go road tax?
Lets put it this way - If they start this up, both myself and my wife will have to quit our jobs as we will not be able to afford to get to the City where we work and public transport is not an option. Do you think I could take the government for constructive dismissal or something? After all, it will be because of them that we lose our income!!
Reply:Should be like America, no road tax as the tax is added to fuel. So the more miles you drive, the more road tax you've paid. Very simple solution.

Example. say your car did 40 mpg (4.54 lt to a gallon). You average 12,000 miles a year which is 300 gallons or 1362 litres of fuel. If the Gov want £160 off you, they need to put 12p on a litre of fuel.

Blokey that drives 12,000 has paid £160 in road tax. Obviously the more or less miles you drive, the more or less £ you pay.
Reply:They've stopped any more signings !!!!!!!!!!!! Or should I say they allow you sign but the figure has remained the same since this morning xxxx
Reply:Thanks I signed it a few days ago.Lets hope theres enough signatures to stop this stupid act.
Reply:It was 1100000 + as of yesterday morning. Thanks to people like yourself who have been posting it everywhere. Its amazing how fast your can spread stuff by email!
Reply:I can't see why they need to even contemplate PAY AS YOU GO TAX.

We already have it....if you drive a lot of miles you have to buy a lot of petrol and that is taxed unbelievebly highly. To top it off they then charge you VAT tax on it when you pay as well!!!!!

It's obviously another way for the government to try and sqeeze a few more pounds out of us all.

Don't let em back in next time!!!!!

Rant Over.....

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-20283698538293603372009-11-13T05:49:00.003-08:002009-11-13T05:49:56.795-08:00Driving Charges PLease Read? The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.

The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC,the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.

A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. And I thought we had it rough over here because we have to pay tolls to use certain highways..And as far as tracking goes....it's been happening for a long time now. Thank-You for being an upstanding civic minded Briton.

Back-slaps and a digital shout of ales all round!
Reply:thanks, good site. I often go there to see what petitions I should sign. There's lots of legislation that is being passed through because we don't care enough to find out or can't be bothered to check. Road pricing is a con! We pay the highest petrol tax in Europe, and we also pay road tax. Plus we have the highest parking charges in Europe and we have the congestion charge.

Now I wouldn't object if there were viable public transport alternatives and you could get around London easily and cheaply BUT London's Mayor (why doesn't someone assassinate him?) has just put the public fares up. Oh, they want to encourage 2-wheelers into London instead to save on pollution and then, in the same week, withdraw all the free parking for motorcycles.

This is nothing to do with the environment and EVERYTHING to do with just getting more money in tax.

Everyone should sign this petition and, at the next general election, VOTE LABOUR OUT. They are crippling this country and its citizens.
Reply:I am in the US and have heard people discussing this for here. Isn't it interesting how governments have so many ways of getting their hands into our pockets. Sounds like something the tax and spend democrats will be looking at, they would love to have all that money to spend.
Reply:Extra tax on top of the 40% of our incomes we already pay in tax?? Compulsary ID cards, Smoking Ban, Now Car Tracking all of which we have to pay extra for, none of which I recall actually voting on? What kind of a state is this becoming. I am not sure about the rest of you, but as a person living on my own earing ok money, I still dont have any extra cash to chuck away for driving my car too and from work. Great Idea Blair... but erghhh when was the last time you tried to use public transport? aprat from no guarantees it will turn up, it being dirty, the abude you face by the YOB culture. half the time there isnt any other method of getting too and from work? See for yourselfs, if you cant afford to use your car, and cant get a lift permenatly how would you get to work? could you do it? What kind of a place are we living in? How f*cking real is the UK government and why is it that the workers, the honest decent people just trying to build a life get s*it on???? if you super rich you can pick what tax you pay? Yet us normal people the ones that keep the country going keep getting kicked. Take my advice guys / girls get the hell out of here, leave this dump, I know for one thing I am not proud of being a UK resident at the moment
Reply:Who voted them in?
Reply:thatsucks for you guys, I don't understand why thy would have a need to keep track of everyone all the time
Reply:All charges will be passed on to the consumer, i.e at the point they start charging all food/fuel/goods/services will go up. Your wages won't, so who will benefit? People will still drive as they have to already, I dont expect to hear anyone say, I'd like to go to the cinema tonight but I can't afford the cost of the journey! I had to visit a customer the other day and I would have needed to spend 4 hours on 2 trains and 2 taxi rides each way - Would have cost over £125.00 - I went by car and it took me 2 hours each way and a tank of fuel.

IT HAS TO STOP !!!!!!!
Reply:personally i think we pay enough its just another stealth tax. but if its brought in we wont have a choice. its all part of the big brother syndrome. they want to know far too much about what we do. George Orwells book 1984 sums it up.
Reply:if all the money spent by motorists actually went to the "roads" traffic signals etc.then we would be better off. instead it introduces speed cameras purely for revenue, accident black spot my a**e ! its time to leave the uk and go else where!
Reply:Why don't they think they get enough per mile already from the extortionate petrol tax Uk drivers already pay.

JAMEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17930537525201830672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1099449234532339532.post-78827349170767990422009-11-13T05:49:00.000-08:002009-11-13T05:49:08.502-08:00If you think this is wrong sign the petition?http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you

having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly

bill to use it.

The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the

BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for

a delivery driver.

A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86

in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Don't exclude anyone, think like the UN, and get us all involved, I am a true freedom fighter are you one? Then remember we can make the difference everywhere. Princess Dianna believed that and she tried, may God Bless us All everywhere.
Reply:I agree it is wrong, but I can't help either, I live in the United States. Good Luck.
Reply:that just sounds like the perfect reason to stand up and tear out those little machines everytime you see one. by the way if your required to purchase one have it reprogrammed to not transmit any info and keep returning them until its a complete burden. they just might see it as not cost effective and get rid of it.
Reply:you should mention at the top of the post its for britan

sorry about whats happening....
Reply:Aw rite me old mate ow u doin then.
Reply:That is definitely wrong, but I am unable to help you as I am in the USA.
